Artists have surrounded me my entire life. My father has done glass etching, color pencil work, illustration, and is an accomplished air brush artist. My aunt created stained glass pieces, and her and my mother created glass jewelry together. Because of this, the idea of creating and sharing those creations with others have been at the center of my own art.
I have always known how fortunate I am to be supported in my creative efforts, but now I decided to take steps to make my passion my career. This came after years of insistence from family and friends that I should "do something" with my art - so as a first step, I enrolled in the Tom Savini Special Make-Up Effects program at the Douglas Education Center. This portfolio is a mixture of work I completed before and while obtaining my Associates degree. It was a great experience that culminated with my graduation in January 2018. Until April 2020, when I relocated to Phoenix, I was Mold Making Supervisor with Animax Designs, Inc, in which I was able to continue learning about the industry. I look to continue working on projects and obtaining a position in which I can continue to create. |
